Located in Northern Ireland, the Hinch distillery produces whiskeys with typical Irish profiles, sweetness, elegance and authenticity are on the program while adding its own little touch, a strong character, and more complex. To obtain these particular profiles, the distillery selects liquids coming from the most beautiful distilleries of the country and then makes them age in its cellars.
The distillery opened its facilities near Belfast in November 2020 in order to apply its philosophy, from selecting ingredients to bottling. Thanks to its proximity to the coast of Scotland, this region is a crossroads for exchanging expertise between the two countries, both of which claim to have invented whiskey. This rich history inspired the distillery's staff, who bring their creativity and resourcefulness to the craft. The traditional, triple distillation that is a staple of Irish whiskeys reflects this passion, because only the heart of the first and third distillations are kept. They are added to the second distillation to amplify its aromatic palette, revealing a fruitier, more noticeably spiced flavor profile. This distillation is so important that the stills even bear little nicknames borrowed from the region's mountains. A symbol that is all the more meaningful given that the Hinch distillery draws its water from these mountains.
